How do I make an arm straight like a real arm, not like gum

Post by kahyah » Mon Aug 07, 2017 10:56 am

Hey there, I am trying to make my character wave, but when he puts his arm up it becomes like gum, it doesnt move like a real arm, look at this picture, I had to rotate it a lot to make it look ok but it's still pretty bad http://imgur.com/a/HQ3JD

I used the auto rig and it is very helpful but how do I make it not be like gum? Can I somehow put extra controllers on the elbow so that I can make it look more realistic?

Thank you!

Unfortunately, that's how the puppet tool work in AE for now.

You can either divide the arm in two layers, this way you'll get a "real" elbow instead of a bendy arm,
or you can try creating the puppet on an arm perfectly straight instead of an already curved one, this should help.
