Imitation of rubberhose fluid animation with DUIK

Post by slick1 » Sun Mar 22, 2020 3:15 pm

I found this tutorial where narrator skips explanation of the important part starting from 22:00 (link below). So question is, how to create a rig via bezier curves ? He doesn't explain it in details... rubberhose script allows to create fluid and smooth movements without distortions and i want to achieve the same effect with duik. Some commentors saying rotobezier is the way to go, but could someone explain the whole process please ? Would be very grateful

Ok, i've organized and parented every single layer like in tutorial, but hand controller doesn't bend the shape, shape is just sliding along with controller and bezier(bone) controllers don't do anything.

1. I created bezier path with pen tool, selected vertexes and added bones to them.
2.Then I created hand structure, aligned along the shape and auto rigged it.
3. I parented bone controllers to S|arm,S|forearm and S|hand structures
4. main shape parented with S|Hand structure.

What am i missing ? I really need to know how to do it. Anyone ?

So it's still not exactly what i want. I need the same rubber animation as in tutorial above, but applied to custom shape. The tutorial only shows how to do it with pen created shape.
